Blasting abrasives from Metalltechnik Schmidt are deployed today for many applications in a wide range of industries. Whether our low carbon steel abrasive FERROSAD or our high quality cast aluminium abrasive ALUSAD for the electrochemically neutral blasting of aluminium. Whether cleaning blasting, descaling or surface optimisation – you can rely on Metalltechnik Schmidt high-quality abrasives.

Through years of experience we fulfil the demand of our customers that a perfect result is required in every production phase, including the blasting process. This is why production managers in many sectors and process engineering industries rely on Metalltechnik Schmidt quality products. In order to meet your requirements in the best possible way, we also offer exclusive special sievings on request in addition to our proven standard products.

FERROSAD

FERROSAD made from the finest steel Quality is the key to the success of FERROSAD. As with any product, the quality depends on the component parts. We only use clean deep drawing quality scrap with low values of phosphorus and sulphur. In manufacturing FERROSAD we control additions of high quality alloys which, in the correct combinations guarantee high quality. FERROSAD has the right hardness and breaks down more slowly than shot with higher carbon levels due to its controlled levels of carbon and high manganese content. FERROSAD has a tough, wear resistant bainitic microstructure which is virtually free of shrinkage and slag inclusions. FERROSAD is categorised as a bright spherical metallic cast steel shot which does not suffer from quench cracks. After a few cycles in the machine, the operating mix achieves its optimum hardness for the best blasting results which in turn generates increased productivity and efficiency.

MTS-3000

MTS-3000 Magnetic floor cleaner

Cleanliness, safety and efficiency. The MTS-3000 Magnetic floor cleaner fulfils exactly for these requirements and should be deployed at any production site where ferro-metallic abrasives are used.Accident prevention: Risk of slipping due to abrasive shot pellets on the floor.

  • Savings potential: Usable abrasive components are separated from dust, sand residues, etc. and can be fed back into the blasting cycle. How many kilos of abrasive are disposed of per month in the waste?

  • Cleanliness at the workplace: Easy cleaning of the work paths and the environment of your blasting plant.

FERROPLUS

Low carbon steel abrasive

Due to its geometry, our FERROPLUS abrasive offers significantly more abrasiveness. This can be advantageous for certain applications where, for example, greater roughness depth is desired for subsequent coating. As a low-carbon abrasive, it has the same chemical analysis and the resulting bainitic structure as FERROSAD.
This means that the same positive properties are also achieved in the blasting process with this abrasive medium.

ALUSAD

ALUSAD is a high-quality cast aluminium blasting medium. With a copper content < 0.03% it is practically copper-free. It specifically meets the requirements of electrochemically neutral blasting of aluminium.
